What Solar Shades Do
Solar shades are engineered to block harmful UV rays, reduce heat gain, and cut glare while maintaining outward visibility. Unlike blackout shades, they let in diffused natural light and allow airflow while dramatically reducing the temperature of your outdoor space. Depending on the fabric openness factor you choose, our solar shades can block between 95% and 99% of UV radiation.
Choosing Your Openness Factor
The openness factor determines how much light and airflow passes through the fabric. Lower openness means more privacy and more UV blocking.
Nano 95 — 5% Open (Roll Height 126")
Our most popular solar shade fabric. Blocks 95% of UV rays, reduces glare significantly, and provides a two-way mirror effect — you can see out, neighbors cannot see in during daylight hours. Available colors: Granite, Espresso Texture, Tobacco, Charcoal, Flat Black, White, Sable, Bone, Stone Texture, Shadow Texture, Desert Sand, Tumble Weed, Almond, Cafe.
Nano 97 — 3% Open (Roll Height 126")
Greater UV blocking and privacy than the Nano 95. Ideal for west-facing patios or spaces with intense afternoon sun exposure. Available colors: Flat Black, Granite, Espresso Texture, Tobacco, Charcoal.
Nano 99 — 1% Open (Roll Height 126")
Near-complete privacy with maximum UV and heat rejection. Best for spaces where privacy is the top priority or sun exposure is extreme. Available colors: Flat Black, Granite, Espresso Texture, Charcoal, Tobacco.
Dimout — Full Blackout (Roll Height 120")
Complete light blocking for covered patios, entertainment spaces, outdoor theaters, or any application where total darkness or maximum heat rejection is required. Available colors: Charcoal, Flat Black, Tan, Light Grey, Tobacco, Putty, Grey, Espresso, Stone, Shadow.

All solar shade systems are built with powder-coated aluminum housing, side rails, and weighted bottom bar — engineered to resist rust and withstand Arkansas weather including high winds. Lifetime warranty on all parts, components, and motors. 15-year warranty on solar shade fabric. Fabric is antimicrobial, fade-resistant, and mold-resistant.
