The dog was part of the job. They wanted the patio usable without the pet getting into the yard every time the door opened, and without the neighbor's dog at the screen. The product name we use is sunscreens. Searchers also type electric patio screens and privacy screens. Same housing, same motor, mesh picked for that opening. The photos show a taupe shade screen closed across a cedar-post covered patio next to the pool, with brick and a cedar wall around it.
The motor is in the housing. The remote lives in the kitchen. That is the whole trick of motorized retractable screens: the patio is open when they want the view, closed when they want bugs, sun, or the neighbor out of the picture.

How we handle a screen job

Mounting to a beam behind siding is standard for us. Standoff brackets keep the load off the siding, and the fasteners land in solid structure. We mount above it, on every job.
