No. Arm lights come on the Semi-Cassette and Full-Cassette models only. Open-Roll is the line without integrated electronics in the arms — that is part of how it hits its price.

If the wall is even partly exposed, yes — the hood covers about half the roll and cuts UV and debris on the stored fabric. If the wall takes real weather, a cassette model is the better product and we will say so.
