Wind and the screen in The Knolls
The hardware we hang is built around a 115 mph wind rating. That is the number we tell people who ask if it will blow out. If the HOA wants a spec sheet, we send housing color and a photo of the screen up. The screen is retractable bug screens. If you searched motorized porch screens or sunscreens, you are in the right place. The photo shows two gray screens closed under a wood header on a white brick house, with a green lawn in front.
Wind rating on the hardware is 115 mph. That matters on an open Goshen lot, and it is the same hardware on a tight cul-de-sac. Retractable bug screens keep the evening usable. Exterior sun screens cut the glare. Remote-control porch screens are just the motor with a button.

What to expect from us
This is how we run a screen job in The Knolls. Mounting to a beam behind siding is standard for us. Standoff brackets keep the load off the siding, and the fasteners land in solid structure. We come out in person. Housing colors and fabrics have to be seen in daylight, and we check the mounting on site. The visit takes about twenty minutes and costs nothing. Homeowners, restaurants with patios, offices and property managers all call us for the same screens. An install runs 2 to 4 hours, depending on the size of the opening.
Who does the install?
We do. No subcontractors.
Where does the housing go?
Above the header, out of sight. The screen drops from above, so the housing is not sitting in your view.
